Pilates & Yoga Teacher, Long Beach
My journey into the world of yoga started with a setback - tearing my ACL while playing soccer as a teenager. The experience left me feeling weak and anxious. Fast forward to a pivotal moment in 2008 when, while rushing down the stairs to catch my BART train, my knee gave out, and I found myself sitting in frustration with a swollen knee.
Enter my friend Elisa, who introduced me to the transformative power of Bikram yoga. From that moment, I was hooked. In 2009, I crossed paths with Sarah, a remarkable teacher who not only guided me in finding my alignment but also played a crucial role in strengthening my knees enough for me to embrace skateboarding as a mode of transportation helping me find confidence in myself.
The turning point came in 2011 when I was encouraged and supported by my peers to take Bikram’s teacher training that spring. After that I undertook a Forrest Yoga Teacher Training with the incredible Ana Forrest in 2015. Following that, in 2016, I completed the Inferno Hot Pilates training with Gaby Walters. In 2022 I received certification from Love Story Yoga.
Yoga has been more than a physical practice for me; it's been a source of strength and a guiding philosophy that has helped me pursue inner peace. The profound lesson I've learned is that yoga is a continuous practice, not a one-time event. It requires ongoing effort and concentration.
Driven by a desire to share the incredible gift I've received, I've become a dedicated teacher, committed to passing on every tool I've acquired. There's nothing more fulfilling than witnessing students discover their own paths. When that "aha" moment happens, and they light up with understanding, it takes me back to the transformative moments that sparked my own journey.
Join me in this ongoing practice, where every step is a new opportunity for growth and self-discovery. Let's embark on this journey together!
